The museum has very well-equipped laboratories for imaging and characterising macro- and microscopic palaeontological and zoological samples.
Resources
Resources consist of:
a NextEngine 3D laser scanner
a MakerBot 3D printer
multiple stereo- and petrographic microscopes, including three state-of-the-art multifocal plane microscopy systems.
Additionally, there are several high-performance workstations used for 3D visualisation and analysis, with licenses for Amira, Mimics and COMSOL.
The research group also has strong links with several external partners, enabling access to X-ray computed tomography, synchrotron beamline and neutron imaging facilities.
